MINNESOTA FAITH IN ACTION ASSOCIATION BOARD MEMBERSHIP BOARD CHAIR BOARD VICE CHAIR BOARD SECRETARY/TREASURER
BOARD MEMBERSHIP Lee Neste is the founding director of Faith in Action in Red Wing. He began in July 1998 and has been heading the program ever since. Lee brings a lifetime of business experience and community involvement to the board. He is a graduate of the University Of North Dakota School Of Business. Lee served as a mentor for three teams in the Faith in Action mentoring program. Last year 218 Faith in Action in Red Wing volunteers provided 7,316 hours of services on 4,324 occasions to 276 individuals. Dorthea Doty is the Care Team Ministry Coordinator at Lyngblomsten and has a B.S. in Social Work and Recreation from Mankato State University. She has been a nursing home social worker and consultant for health care organizations in the field of gerontology for the past 35 years. She is skilled in program management with profit and non profit agencies;developed a hospital social work department in Texas, organized a county wide information and referral system in Iowa, and coordinator of the Big Brother and Sister Program in Mankato. Developed non profit programs with federal grants for seniors in Alaska and Texas that were the first recreation and dining sites for the Eskimo and Athabascan Indian and rural southern elderly. First Hospice Social Worker for Allina where she worked in hospice for 12 years. She has worked in the housing field starting as a YMCA Housing and Dorm Coordinator, Services and Admission Coordinator for senior cooperatives, and Housing Director for senior independent and assisted living non profit organizations for eight years. She is presently employed at Lyngblomsten in St. Paul, Minnesota as the Coordinator of Care Team Ministry with 15 churches and provides education and training to over 300 volunteers at these churches. Sonya Robison-Taylor was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She relocated to south-eastern Minnesota in 2003 with her daughter. Sonya has an associate’s degree in Mental Health Technology from the Indiana Vocational Technical College in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is certified by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians as a medical laboratory professional. Sonya began her career in the non-profit sector in 2006 with Faith in Action Central Goodhue County as the Volunteer coordinator and became the Executive Director in 2008. Sonya is an avid reader and enjoys many types of sewing. Kim Askeland is the Program Director and Caregiver Educator for Wellspring Faith In Action of Watonwan County in Southern Minnesota. Wellspring has two employees and 75-100 volunteers completing 6,000 hours of community service each year. Kim is also a Licensed Parent and Family Educator and teaches parenting classes with ECFE and Watonwan County Family Literacy. Kim also teaches ESL classes with the Watonwan County Family Literacy Program and enjoys being an active member of the St. James community as well as an active member of her church community. Mary Tetzloff holds a BA in Music Education and religion from St. Olaf College, Northfield Minnesota and also has a minor in psychology. After graduating from college, Mary taught school music in Texas, California , Missouri and Minnesota. A trained church organist and pianist, teaching private lessons has also been of prime importance, as well as occupying a "bench" every Sunday morning for many years. Mary's hobbies include being a member of International Toastmistress for 35 years, and holding local, state, regional offices. Mary loves to walk, knit, quilt, read and spend time with children and grandchildren. Mary currently serves as a Board Member for Faith in Action for Cass County. Patrick Day has been a board member with Faith in Action of Wright County since 2007 and presently is the board chair. He also is a Planning Commissioner for the City of Buffalo, active with the Wright County Economic Development Partnership, president of his townhome association, and a member of the Guideons. Since leaving the educational field as dean of instruction for Ridgewater College, he has formed pjdcoaching, a business coaching entity that helps businesses and organizations with everything from strategic planning to crisis management to all aspects of the hiring and dismissal process. Patrick is presently completing a fictional novel, Too Late in the Afternoon: One Man's Triumph Over Depression, that will be published this spring. He has a master's degree in English Literature from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in Reading from the University of St. Thomas.
